The Senate, in all its wisdom, has rejected a bill to ban abortions after 20 weeks. Personally, I believe a woman has a right to select an abortion at any time she chooses. It is a decision that is her’s alone and one that she will have to live with for the rest of her life. I don’t think that the government has any business dealing with personal decisions. But abortion should not be a substitute for birth control when there are so many ways to control that.
After just a few weeks a fetus has little fingers and hands and feet and toes, so it is a human being. Twenty weeks is FIVE months. If a woman can’t decide on an abortion before she has been pregnant for five months, there is something wrong with her thinking. Of course, so-called “Planned Parenthood” will perform an abortion as the baby is being born, using a vacuum device to suck its brains out.
The Senate, naturally, takes the easy way out because to them a vote is a vote and they will do anything to keep their 3-day-a-week cushy and lucrative job. They are all millionaires and they are not going to jeopardize that by losing one woman’s vote.
As I said, it is not my business when a woman decides on an abortion. But a five month fetus is definitely a human being, no matter what name you call it. To abort it is killing a person and it is something that should take serious thought and is not a decision to be taken lightly.
