Donald Trump has been in office for seven months. During that time congress has taken SIX two week “recesses” (that’s 12 out of 28 weeks) and they’re now taking their August recess. And when they do decide to come to work they only “work” three days a week. Don’t you wish you had a cushy job like that? I know the President has to be frustrated as hell at the slothfulness of a do-nothing Republican controlled congress. They are supposed to be on his (and our) side, but it doesn’t look like it, does it?
For seven years congress sent health care bills to Obama, knowing that he would veto them. That was “pretending” to show us that they really wanted to repeal Obamacare. Now that they control both houses of congress and the presidency – they can’t make themselves repeal it.
To me, it’s really simple. All congress has to do is to give the American people the same health care plan that they receive – and President Trump would sign it today. And, when you think of it, is that too much to ask? Why shouldn’t WE have the same kind of health care that the people we send to D.C. have? Is there a reason that their health is MORE important than ours?
Last winter Paul Ryan said, “Oh, yeah, by the August recess we will have a new health care bill and tax reform, I guarantee it.” Well, August is upon us and where are we? Right where we were last winter. Every Representative and Senator who ran for re-election during the last seven years has sworn that they would vote to “repeal and replace” Obamacare. I hate to tell you because you voted for them, but they lied. Lying seems to come easy to all politicians, especially when they want to keep their great job and terrific health care plan.
However, voting comes around again and again. President Trump has done all he can to uphold the promises he made to us, something NO politician has ever done before. That is why we elected him. Now, it is time for us to remember the Susan Collins and the John McCains and the Mitch McConnells and all the rest of the lying assholes. Personally, if I were President Trump I would say, “To hell with the bunch of you, I don’t need this hassle. I’m outta here!” But he is not a quitter. It is not in his nature to give up on anything. What we have to do, when voting time comes around again is to REMEMBER the bums we have in congress now – and vote in some new people who will help our President “Make America Great Again.” He can’t do it all by himself, folks. But we still have the power of the vote. Let’s use it wisely next time.
