Okay, Congress -Showtime!

Paul Ryan says, “We may not be able to do it in 100 days. It may take 200 days. But, we’ll get it done by the August recess.” August recess? Unless I’m wrong, August is SEVEN months from now and that is more than 200 days. Of course, right after the August Recess there is the Holiday Recess that goes from November thru the beginning of the following year. Ryan, of course, made this stupid statement at a “republican recess” (which is another holiday that they give themselves every month or so).

Ryan, Republican Leader in the House of Representatives, was talking about the agenda set out by President Trump. I’ve always said that Trump’s biggest obstacle to getting the things done that most Americans want done, is…Congress.

You see, the House and the Senate are just not used to working. They can just barely make it three days a week now (while most Americans work 5 or 6) and most of those days are spent in talking. Donald Trump works seven days a week, but unless he can send Congress to rehab so that they can learn to work 5 days a week like the rest of the country, he is not going to get much accomplished.

It’s not only the media that is against Trump, it’s all the democrats and a large number of republicans. For the first time, since the days of the founders, we have a non-politician as President. And we see what a successful businessman can do. As rapidly as he can, he is actually trying to fulfill his campaign promises to the people. When have you ever seen a “politician” actually DO the things he promises? Dare I say, never? In fact, the people (that would be you and me) have become accustomed to those we send to D.C. not doing much of anything, except…talk. Now, we have an Action-President! But, we still have a petulant and terribly lazy bunch of self-serving bums in congress.

I am hoping that President Trump will continue to use Twitter. I hope he will call out, by name, those lethargic and slothful congress people who will deliberately try to delay his progress. .And if (and when) he does, it is then up to you and me to bombard our so-called representatives by email and snail mail and hold their stinky feet to the fire. If you really want a Great America, you are going to have to do your part.
