Memorial Day

This is Memorial Day. Yes, some people call it the beginning of summer. And many people use it as a normal holiday; some begin their vacations on this day. Memorial means, “In memory of” and Memorial Day is set aside to remember the men and women who have died in military service. Have you thought today about someone you knew who died for our nation? Freedom is not “free.” It is paid for by those who are willing to sacrifice everything, to give up their lives so that we may enjoy ours as free people. The young people of today are too pampered, too protected, and too afraid to “offend” to be able to win a war such as WW-II. They must have the “government” protect them from bullies. Let me tell you, the Nazis and Japs WERE bullies. That war saved the world from dictatorships, while America asked nothing in return. My only brother died in that war along with thousands of other young men and women. He was only 20 years old. I think of him every day, bur especially on this Memorial Day.
