Black lives Matter. Well, yeah. Early this week my wife was driving on LaVista Road when the transmission in her car decided to quit working. She coasted to a stop on the side of the road, but there is no “safety” lane there so she was still blocking half a lane and had no way to move. She called AAA but it took them 40 minutes to get to her.
For those 40 minutes, passing motorists were shouting obscenities at her, blowing their horns, and giving her the finger. ONE car stopped. It was an elderly black couple. The lady rolled her window down and asked my wife, if she needed help. My wife thanked them and said that assistance was on the way.
I’m not impressed by a bunch of loud radical misfits who fill the streets with their banners and their shouts of “Black lives Matter.” But while whitey did nothing but curse my wife, who obviously had car trouble and was temporarily helpless on the side of the road, it was a considerate black couple who offered help. To me, those are two black lives that really matter. I don’t know who they are, but I’m grateful to them for their act of kindness.
