A government shutdown? OMG!

Do you remember the last time there was a…(Oh, my God!)…a government shutdown? You probably don’t remember because…nothing changed. The mail was still delivered six days a week. Social Security checks came at their regular time. The police and fire departments were right on the job. Airlines maintained schedules, road crews worked. Grocery stores were still stocked. Hospitals remained open. The banks were operating as usual. The DMV was as crowded as always. In short, life remained at its normal pace.

Okay, when the government did shutdown a couple years ago, you know the only thing that changed? Eight hundred thousand (that’s 800,000) government workers got an extra two week paid vacation. What large company do you know that can send 800,000 people home and nothing changes? Which brings up a logical question. If the government can layoff 800,000 people and it doesn’t even cause a ripple in anyone’s life –WHY do we have those 800.000 useless people? I don’t even want to think of what we taxpayers have to pay for those worthless bureaucrats.

All we hear from the establishment Republicans is that we must NOT have a government shutdown! Mitch McConnell and John Boehner absolutely cannot stop giving millions in taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood, which is still chopping up living babies for their “parts.” They dare not complain about us cozying up to communist Cuba, an oppressive government that hasn’t had free elections for fifty years. They cannot stop the plan to give Iran an atomic bomb! In fact, their hands are tied because if they dare do anything productive for the American people…it might cause a brief government shutdown. And, at all costs, that cannot be allowed to happen! Sounds like bullshit to me. What do you think?

Maybe a better idea would be to send Mitch McConnell and John Boehner home. As far as I can see, they are just as worthless as the other 800,000 useless government workers.
