Government at its Best!

It’s sometimes hard to believe that there is a government more stupid than ours. I mean, who would think that we would sign an agreement with a nation whose leaders shout, “Death to America!” that guarantees that Iran (that nation) will manufacture an atomic bomb? But the “Mother Country” is also awash in bureaucratic stupidity, although their latest won’t cause death, just serious embarrassment.

In 2014 the United Kingdom instituted a law that allows “the right to be forgotten.” It says that the people have a right to demand that online search engines delete links to stories about themselves if the stories embarrass them. When the law was invoked, news sites published articles about it because Google had notified the sites affected. Now, the people are upset that links to those news stories are keeping their names in the limelight. So now the U.K.’s Information Commissioner has ordered Google to remove the links to the articles about the removals of the links, too. (Are you still with me?) Because Google notified the sites affected, now there are MORE articles about removing the links to articles about removed links. Whew!

So, how is your day going?
