Think of all the invectives the Republican candidates have thrown at Donald Trump. He’s a clown, he’s not to be taken seriously, he is a showboat, he’s a circus act, he is just in it for publicity, and on and on. All of them, except Carson and Fiorina who have more class, have called him everything short of being a son of a bitch.
Now, Trump announces that if the Republicans don’t want him, he’ll run as a third-party candidate. Immediately Jeb Bush, whom the DC Republicans desperately want to give the crown to, speaks right up and says, “”I think he’s a serious candidate and he’s going to have a lot of money. He’s tapping into people’s angst that are legitimate,” Bush said.
Yeah. There is that, Jeb. Isn’t it fun to see the “go along to get along” Republicans scared to death of a man who speaks the truth? You have to remember that Trump has never been a politician. And politicians only know one thing – to lie to voters to get into office, and then they join the elites in Congress or the Whitehouse and ignore the voters who put them there. Now, that is historically true, and everyone knows it. It’s what politicians do. And the voters sadly say, “Well, maybe next time.”
There are two things that could happen if Trump decides to run as an Independent. And, incidentally, he has the best chance going that route of any Independent before him – because he is rich and because he has tapped into that group of Americans who are tired of lies. One thing he will do is to drain off Jeb’s base, which gives Hillary a much better chance of winning.
But the other thing that might happen is – Trump might win as an Independent. Personally, I think our country needs a third party. There is no discernible difference between so-called Republicans and Democrats. Real Americans who care about the future (if there is one) of this country are not stupid. Okay. There is a stupid segment of our population who will vote for a Democrat, even if the Demo is dead. (There are also a lot of dead people who vote for Democrats, but that’s a given.) There is one important thing to keep in mind. Regardless of the insults Perry, Santorum, Walker, Kasich, Rubio, et al, throw at him, Donald Trump is as serious as brain surgery when he declares for becoming President. The good ol’ boy Republicans dismiss him at their own peril. He could win against Hillary. Jeb Bush will make a lot of prospective voters take out fishing licenses for Election Day. I’m checking my tackle box right now. Hmmm. I think a Mepps spinner would work really well.
