Death by Sweepstakes!

I don’t want to necessarily alarm you, but have you EVER heard of a winner of the Publisher’s Clearing House Sweepstakes….after they won? We’re not talking cheap change here – $5000 a week for life, PLUS $5000 a week for one of your heirs. That’s a helluva lot of magazine sales!

Oh, we see the commercials and all the happy winners (who all look like they just returned from Walmart, or came out of the swamp) BUT we never see PCH announce WHO won, and we never hear an interview with the lucky winners. Maybe they all go into the Federal Witness Protection program. Or….I don’t want to think of the other possibility.

So, if your doorbell rings and there’s a bunch of people with cameras and a giant sized check standing at your door – if I were you, I would be well armed, or run the other way. I’m not saying that winning the PCH sweepstakes is like signing your death warrant, I’m just sayin’…..be careful out there. Sweepstakes can make you disappear. I don’t see a lot of dead people cashing $5000 checks.
