Read Kindle books on your NOOK!

One of the questions I get the most is: “I want to read your books, but I have a Nook and Amazon says Kindle books cannot be read on a Nook. Why is that?”

Well, the answer is: It is not true. While Amazon does provide an app for ebook devices such as an iPad, iPhone, etc, who the devil wants to read a book on a phone? (I know, a lot of people, but I’m too busy with my phone texting other drivers).

So, how about a wonderful program that will not only convert Kindle books to your Nook, but will also search for free books and do many wondrous things and  (like all software should be) it is FREE.

The program is Calibre and here are a few things it will do:

Calibre is a free and open source e-book library management application developed by users of e-books for users of e-books. It has a cornucopia of features divided into the following main categories:

  • Library Management
  • E-book conversion
  • Syncing to e-book reader devices
  • Downloading news from the web and converting it into e-book form
  • Comprehensive e-book viewer
  • Content server for online access to your book collection
  • E-book editor for the major e-book formats

Calibre will also search for FREE books and will also search for the cheapest price for any book. It is a wonderful program and you can use it to not only convert Kindle to Nook formats, but you can send the contents of the books to any device you have. Give it a try. What the heck, its FREE. (Listen to the tutorial a couple of times, because Calibre does so many things it is hard to comprehend its value with just one listen.)
