Bad news for Amazon book authors. You know how you used to see your sequels or other books below the book someone was looking at? That is no longer true. For instance, if someone is looking at my “Tropical Knights” below it they would see “Customers also bought” and there would be pictures of “Tropical Daze” and/or “Tropical Rage.” No more. Someone who might be interested in sequels or other books in the series have no notice that there are other books of the same genre available.
I questioned “Author Central” about this because it is not only a disservice to the authors, but it also reduces Amazon’s sales, if nobody is made aware of similar books. The answer I got was courteous and made no sense at all. I was told that the Amazon web site was changed to reflect buyer habits.
No, I have no idea of what that means except that those of us who have written several books in a series are out of luck. Only by searching, would a prospective buyer be able to find my other books, and they won’t do that. It is a stupid move on Amazon’s part, but then, they are not known for their good judgment.
