One Year, and Counting!

I just noticed that I have been writing this blog for a year now. My how time flies. I want to thank the three people (other than my dog who is a better person than I am) for reading this stuff. Someone told me I had an “eclectic” blog. If that means eccentric, than she is correct. I use it to rave and rant about things I like and don’t like. I use it in a vain attempt to help new authors. (They know more than I do, so I’m sure they just consider that the “old man” is not hip and is getting senile.)

That could be true. I do know that with age I have learned not to suffer fools anymore. I am eager to learn new things, but if someone becomes argumentative with me I don’t give them the benefit of the doubt anymore, I just tell them to “fuck off” and if they want to continue the discussion let’s step outside. I may be old but I have never passed up the opportunity for a fight.

Hey, if you three who read this have not gotten your FREE download of “Tropical Knights” (the first novel in the Jack Stevens Adventure series) it is not too late. It is available to anyone anywhere, no strings attached, from Amazon.com. It is the full length novel and will perhaps make your summer reading a bit more fun. Just go to Kindle books and search Tropical Knights or John Beckman and you will see that it is FREE through Saturday June 8th. (Actually it remains in effect until midnight PDT which is 3 AM EDT, but you won’t be up that late. I know I won’t be.) It is an eBook and can be read on any electronic reading device. (That means Kindle, ePub, Nook, laptop, desktop, iPad, iPhone and maybe even your refrigerator – EVERYTHING now is an electronic reading device.)

Thanks to you three (plus my dog) for hanging in here with me for a year. I hope I will be here same time, same station next year. But, there are no guarantees in life, you know that.
