One More Thing!

One more thing: If you have visited this web site before you may have noticed some advertisements on the lower right side usually touting some publishing company or related to writing. Those ads are known as “Google’s Ad Sense” and they were randomly placed on my site – that is, I had no choice of what the ads represented.

The idea was that if you clicked on one of those ads, I would get a penny. No, you didn’t read that incorrectly. If you clicked on that ad I would get a penny. Let me say that there has been a lot of publicity and controversy about these ads. If you don’t believe me, just Google “Ad Sense Scam” and see what others have said about this type of commercialism.
There are some sites loaded up and down each side and in the middle with blinking, flashing ads. They drive me nuts, so I avoid them.

I have made a decision. Google has a reputation of stealing confidential information from people who use their services or click on their ads. That is why I use “Bing” as my search engine. As far as my web site is concerned, so far displaying Google’s ads I have made a total of thirteen cents ($0.13) for the privilege of making you watch them. Well, no more. I have removed the code from my web site that inserted these ads. From now on, in their place you will see a different “Ouote” each time you come to my site – most of them related to authors or writers or good ideas from famous people.

You’ll see these quotes under the heading on the right side called “One More Thing.” If you have a comment on this change, I would love to hear it.
